Spring in Apollo Park: 12th October

The Spring in Apollo Park event brought together local residents to celebrate the beauty of nature and the spirit of community. Families enjoyed an afternoon filled with fun activities, including a reptile show, face painting, balloon animals, jumping castles and a balloon house. Delicious treats from local vendors—ranging from coffee and crunchies to boba soda, ice cream, Vietnamese chicken and boerie rolls—kept everyone refreshed.

A highlight of the day was the unveiling of the Eco Bench, a project crafted from over 1,000 eco bricks, symbolizing the community’s commitment to sustainability. The event concluded with a thrilling raffle draw, with prizes valued at R70,000, adding excitement to the festivities.

It was a beautiful day that highlighted the best of Apollo Park: a perfect blend of nature, fun, and community spirit.

KERA Rocks: On 14th September we hosted our first KERA Rock Painting Workshop. Watch a short video here!

Wetlands Walk with Tim Kirsten: A guided walk exploring local fauna, flora, and birdlife along the Kirstenhof Greenbelt. This event was a fantastic opportunity to learn about the wetlands’ ecosystem and was enjoyed by both adults and children.

Apollo Park Rewilding Project: On April 27th, volunteers gathered to promote biodiversity and restore the local ecosystem. Activities included wildlife habitat restoration, pole planting, and an educational talk. Refreshments and snacks were also available. Watch the video here.
